The musical accompaniment in some places evokes associations with the masterpieces of the studio Ghibli. It's not the only one. The fat cat "mask merchant". A different world of cats. Yes, and the whole situation with the transformation into a cat makes you think of "Gone with the Ghosts.“, “My neighbor Totoro“, “Return of the Cat" etc. True, there are almost no memorable tracks. Music and sound work solely to complement the picture.

About the anime "Through Tears I Pretend I'm a Cat".
Watched this anime, of whose existence I learned a couple of days ago. And since we're talking about cats, it's a sin not to look at the cartoon. And by the way, the anime is fairly new: it premiered on June 18 of this year. Notable for this work is that the demonstration was conducted on the Internet.
By tradition, I will begin with the translation of the Japanese title. In Japanese, the anime is called "泣きたい私は猫をかぶる." The Yandex.translator didn't screw it up here either, translating it as "I feel like crying I'm wearing a cat."
And now let me spoil the story a little, which is to say, what this anime is about.
In the first frames we see a little girl find herself in a very strange, I would even say scary, place. Then we are abruptly shown the same girl, but a little grown-up. And we get the impression that it was just a dream.
So, it's summer, the girl and her parents are at a festival, and then they talk about her father having another woman. And the daughter faces a choice: to live with her mother or her father. She chooses her father. Then she meets a strange talking cat who has cat masks.
Then we are transported to our days, the main character is in her senior year of high school. By the way, her name is Miyo, but her classmates call her by the nickname "Muge". Anyway, Muge is in love with a classmate named Kento Hinode, whom she greets daily with a pop attack. Hinode is shocked by this behavior, her classmates are also perplexed, but the girl doesn't give a damn.
But Muge has a secret: at night she puts on a cat mask, turns into a cat, and visits Hinode. Hinojae, on the other hand, loves his little furry guest. Frankly speaking, I'd pet such a pretty little thing myself.
He's not much good at home, though: Muge doesn't really want to have much contact with her stepmother. No, they don't quarrel, and Muge is even quite smiling and friendly, but she refuses every suggestion from her stepmother. And so the only place she feels happy is at Hinode's house.

The drawings are nice, but nothing more. Although the graphic part at the moment when Miss Kaoru and Miyo enter the house seemed kind of unpleasant, to me. You can feel the interference of artificial intelligence, and it's a messy one at that. Otherwise, I didn't notice any flaws. Oh, I also thought that Miss Kaoru's portrayal was a bit too plain. It was as if they decided to save money on her. Although it is quite possible that I am wrong.
The music is unremarkable, but it doesn't distract from the viewing experience, nor does it dissonant with the narration (Hi "Salvation Union." ). And if the music doesn't interfere, then it's good.
Through my tears I pretend to be a cat / Nakitai Watashi wa Neko wo Kaburu
Miyo Sasaki, nicknamed "Muge," is an active and bright girl who is head over heels in love with her classmate Kento Hinode. Miyo's attempts to get his attention fail, but the situation changes when she finds a magic mask that allows her to transform into "Taro", the cute white cat that Kento loves so much. The course of events seems tempting, but as time passes, the line between the girl and the cat begins to fade.

I suggest lurk for about 70 years and then revisit. Then the characters will be revealed to the full 300 and such as all will be. You could have written "I watched it, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. ", but then I could have made the Deadsadians into wise old philosophers. That's why I suggest we revisit the story in 7000-300000 years.
The sub-translation into Russian turned out crappy, the plot engine is more than childish. But I liked it. And the pussycat and the Shoujo ramune reference. And the physics of that skirt. The only thing I don't understand is what the fantasy girl from the beginning of the story has to do with the plot. Like if she's crazy she looks like a cat? Just a superfluous character. Just kidding. Just kidding. But the method of action in the first place, the disclosure in the second really corrupts the impression. But you can watch it a second time.
Impressions of watching "For You I'll Be a Cat."
Finally got to watch Nakitai Watashi wa Neko wo Kaburu, which I avoided so carefully all last year, and wanted to share my impression of watching the film.
The main character is bright and energetic high school student Miyo Sasaki nicknamed "Muge" who is in love with her classmate Kento Hinode, all her attempts to attract her lover's attention are in vain, so she by coincidence acquires the ability to become a cute kitten in order to get closer to the object of her adoration, but later turns out to be a fatal mistake, as she begins to lose her humanity.
The synopsis seems to be quite interesting and it immediately becomes clear what to expect from the film. The first hour of the film is really lively and interesting: the jokes are not bad, the heroine is unusual, there is good drawing and just beautiful backgrounds, calm and clear narration, but the remaining 40 minutes of the film loses all its momentum: the heroine begins to make illogical actions, abrupt and incomprehensible changes of characters' motives, broken narrative lines and I as a viewer get bored watching such things and wish that it would end quickly.
– The main characters are revealed only in passing, though maybe not in this anime, as the main focus is on Miyo and Kento's relationship. The main character's girlfriend's name, however, I could only find out after watching it, as it feels like it was never even mentioned in the film. To be fair, some of the characters do reveal a bit in the scenes during the credits, but only a couple of them.
– The audio component of the movie was not memorable, it was just there. The only thing I can remember is the song at the end of the movie.
– The film's strongest aspect is the graphics, the backgrounds are worth a lot, I constantly wanted to pause and take a lot of screenshots.
Kokoro ga Sakebitagatterunda.
The ability to speak provides a great opportunity to express one's thoughts and feelings, to share them with someone. This ability truly makes a person happy. But words can hurt, can cause unbearable pain. Told in the heat of the moment, in a fit of unrestrained anger, and words that were not meant to offend. Life teaches us to be restrained in language, but the phrase "keep your mouth shut," unfortunately, is not heeded by everyone.
June was once happy. But she was too young to understand a simple truth: it's not just actions that can hurt anyone. A few words, and the family was ruined. And it was all her fault. But out of nowhere a tiny spirit in the form of a funny egg appears in front of the girl. And magically "seals" her voice so that June can never hurt anyone again.
Thus, henceforth mute but bitter-hearted, in the shadow of her own alienation, she continues to live and grow up. Until one day luck extends its warm hand and, taking the girl's hand firmly, leads her out of the darkness of regret and into the dazzling light, toward the people who can change her. June suddenly realizes that happiness was not far away, and that her wounded heart, such a small heart, wants to cry out so badly.
The full-length film is okay, the animation and design are percratic. The idea with the theater and the visualization of the girl's problems is interesting. The link with the parents is normal, though a bit far-fetched. The idiot mother is expected and realistic. For Ponts, miscommunication in the family is a common problem, otherwise there wouldn't have been so many hicks.
In general, the he-she-she triangulation itself reminded me very much of the story from True Tears. and again, the situation is quite believable. on the one hand, talking and discussing relationships with a love interest is always more difficult than playing the noble knight with a girl who has problems communicating. That said, the convo in true tears is beautiful, everyone in their own way found their sanity after teenage withdrawal, spoke out and parted beautifully. In "Heart Wants…" in my pure opinion, the big guy was just for the furniture. Some kind of twisted barzilian desire of the author to make "everyone feel good" (that is, literally, the viewer is proved that having a boyfriend is an unambiguous sign of "good"). The second ringing was, imho, unnecessary.
The popular Japanese band Yorushika introduced a song for the new anime "Through Tears I Pretend to Be a Cat".
A new trailer for the full-length animation has premiered "Through tears I pretend to be a cat» (Nakitai Watashi wa Neko wo Kaburu). The four-minute clip features a composition by the hugely popular Japanese band Yorushikawhich won the "Top 5 New Artists in 2020" award.Top 5 New Artists" at the 34th Japan Gold Disc Award.
The animated film tells the story of a girl named Miyo Sasaki who falls madly in love with her classmate Kento Hinode. All her attempts to attract attention to herself are in vain. But a mysterious magic mask comes to her rescue. Miyo, who is in love with Kento, is enamored with him and is therefore able to get close to her lover. However, as time goes by, the line between the girl and the cat begins to fade.

Anime when I cry I become a cat
Everything in the film that is noteworthy begins at exactly the 39th minute (38:00). And what comes before is a mediocre waste of time. Further with spoilers.
A girl (Miyo, nicknamed Mugi) is in love with a boy (Kento), writes him a love letter, the letter is taken away by a classmate and reads it aloud. The boy that the girl is in love with says that confessing in public embarrasses him and that he does not like immodest people like her. The girl gets upset, becomes a cat, and runs away from home.
Feel sorry for the girl? Pitiful. But the girl's no choirboy, either. She likes to make jokes among her classmates, but at home she always walks around with an artificial smile, making her family worry. Yes, her parents split up and now she lives with her father and stepmother. But her stepmother is quite kind and caring, and she doesn't deserve to be treated that way. She does not consider her classmates to be people – they are like stuffed animals to her. She has one more girlfriend (Yoriko), and everyone else is ignored, including her boyfriend's friend (Isami). Maybe that's why someone thought to read her letter. Maybe that classmate felt something for her and was hurt? That doesn't excuse him, but the girl, based on the above, isn't a role model either. Yes, she's not bad, but she's selfish, like most kids her age.
But it's not about most, she's the protagonist, the protagonist, we, the audience, are supposed to love her. But if she's freaking out, she's clearly freaking out, you can't see any tragedy causing her to behave that way. The same can be said of her chosen one. Why this particular OYASH? Why is he better than the others? Here is the heroine's direct speech with my notes in parentheses:
"You take care of your family (how?). You are devoted to your friends (how?).
You are good to animals (playing with a kitten). That's why I love you (oops, that's it)!"
I'm sorry, but that's kindergarten. You can love him for anything, you can love him for his little finger on your left foot, but the writers have to explain to the audience what's good about him. Not enough time? In the next show, a guy buried a run over doggie and got sympathy for a one-minute scene. Here you had 38 minutes in the beginning – what did you kill them for? His friend, yes, is much more adequate, laughs where necessary and supports the girl who thinks he's a piece of furniture. And the beloved OYash gets his confession letter ripped out of his hands, and he sits there like he's pissed in his pants, pardon the expression. The guy kind of lucid dream – to learn to be a potter. However, I don't know what's bright about molding pots and pots of the night. His mother is a smart woman, she understands that selling cheap clay souvenirs can't make a living, so she stops her handicrafts and sends her son to study. And the son just wants to knead clay. His mother, you see, does not understand him, she is bad.
Anime when I cry I become a cat.
I've been waiting for this movie ever since I saw the first teaser. like last summer. Or was it still in the fall? At the time, I didn't even know that Okada Marie had written the script, but just noticed a cute high school romance with a dramatic flavor.
And having seen the movie now I can say that the trailers deceived us. I mean, not completely deceived, but you still get something completely different than what you might think when looking at the promo content. In fact, in the beginning I watched and was already anticipating how I would write high-profile claims of PR fraud. However, the more it went on, the more it became "just that".
And all because the picture begins far from a light note, as is customary in high school romance. On the contrary. It was depressing and depressing.
I will describe it with slight spoilers. There is a girl whose life is very bad. Her family is a mess, her school doesn't respect her. Her only recourse is a boy she's fallen in love with. She is in love with a boy who, because of her inadequate behavior, treats her very coldly and rejects her in every possible way. It's just that the girl does things beyond reason all the time. Well, like Naruto did to get attention.
A bit exaggerated, but that's if you were running around with a smile on your face and exuding positivity left and right. And someone came up to you and suddenly spit in your face. In doing so, you would say thank you to him with a smile and run on. Personally, it was painful to watch that sight. This kind of defiant behavior is usually the cry of the human soul. And not infrequently left ununderstood. For when you show your whole body in public like that, it only causes irritation. "Who's got it like that? Do you think you're the only one who feels bad? Everybody else feels bad too, but nobody shows it! "
Although I dug that too deep, because later it turned out that her classmates still didn't pick up on her signals. However, they treat her without interest. And some of them are even very scatty. Yes, there are a couple of very unpleasant scenes of human ugliness in the film. It's a coincidence, or is this a trend, but recently came out another game "One of Us 2", which is also a juicy demonstration of the rotten human gut.
One of the best anime of 2020: Netflix's "Through Tears I Pretend to be a Cat" review
After the failed and in every sense embarrassing animated series "Ghost in the Shell: Singles Syndrome 2045" company Netflix has released a truly moving social drama with a flavor of Japanese mysticism, "Through Tears I Pretend I'm a Cat».
The project from director duo Junichi Sato and Tomotaka Shibayama, supported by Mari Okada, offers a new look at the teen romance genre with the added problems of contemporary Japan.
Sato has done a lot of high school dramas like the unknown in Russia full-length animated films of the Tamayuri series, and even before that he managed to work on Sailor Moon.
Shibayama is known only for the quality Grimgal of Ashes and Illusions.
Beautiful in every sense, Mari Okada has a long history of creating very subtle stories with interesting characters, from "Decorate Goodbye Morning with Flowers of Promise" to "A Season of Restless Virgins" to "Sakuraso Pussycat."
Given Sato's love of the cat theme, the plot of "Through Tears I Pretend to Be a Cat" shouldn't have come as a surprise.
Schoolgirl Miyo Sasaki is going through her parents' divorce hard. Life has become gray and meaningless for her until, during a summer festival, she meets a mysterious mask salesman. After putting on the mask offered to her, Miyo turns into a white cat that walks on its own.
A sudden encounter in the form of a beast with a schoolboy Kento changes her whole life. She gradually falls in love with the boy, but can not admit that the cute white kitten Taro, who supported him in difficult moments of life, is actually herself.
Gradually, Miyo's life in an animal body begins to take over her humanity, and the line between girl and cat begins to disappear.
