Considering that the figure will be about 15 cm tall in its finished form, I decided to make it entirely out of sugar fondant. Below are brief instructions and some tips that will allow you to make a cat cake.

Given that the height of the figure in the finished form will be about 15 cm, I decided to make it completely out of sugar mastic. Below are brief instructions and some tips that will allow you to make Marie.

  • Start with the body. Roll it out into a large bean shape and lengthen it slightly on one edge. Using a shaper, shape and highlight the thigh area.
  • Place a piece of Styrofoam on the front of the body and fix it so that the body takes an upright shape. It is better if you are able to leave it in this position for 24-48 hours. The longer the body of the future figurine stays in this position, the more stable it will be.
  • Attach small hind legs to the body.
  • Cut off the upper part of the body, so it becomes flatter. This will make it easier for you to attach the head to it later on. Then attach the collar, front paws and tail.
  • Roll out a small amount of sugar mastic to make wool on the chest. Using small manicure scissors, cut the blank to the right size and trim the edges to create a fur effect.
  • Attach the blank to the front of the chest.

Ingredients

  1. Soak the gelatin in cold water for a few minutes. When it has swollen, place in a water bath and bring to homogeneity.
  2. Sift the powdered sugar, add the egg white, lemon juice and vegetable oil.
  3. Combine the gelatin mixture with the rest of the mixture and mix well.
  4. Knead a elastic mass of dense consistency, adding a little powdered sugar, if necessary.
  5. Roll it into a ball and put it in a plastic bag to keep it from drying out. Allow it to "rest" for a few minutes.
  6. Dye the desired amount of mastic in the desired colors, using food coloring.

This process is described in more detail and shown in the photos in the Making Minions tutorial.

Modeling Kitty Cat Master Class

For the body of the kitty, roll a ball of pink, then give it a drop shape with a wide base and the least narrow top part.

Roll out a 0.8-10 mm thick roll of white mastic. Divide into 4 identical segments: the cat's legs and arms.

Two parts intended for the feet, flatten at one end, forming a foot.

Obtained details glue to the main figure – the torso.

From the remaining segments of the harness form paws: a little roll out the details to thin them. One edge of the attach and cut out a small corner with small scissors to form a thumb. Smooth and rounded – a palm should be neat.

To get the details obtained tightly to the body, at the junction (opposite side of the palm) flatten them to thin out a little. Glue to the base and give a curve at the elbow.

Next, you need to form a fluffy skirt – the bottom of the dress from the flounces. To do this, roll out a piece of pink shade into a thin layer. Cut out a circle, then cut out a smaller circle in the center of the piece. You should get a flat "bagel". For convenience, make an incision so that the workpiece resembles a braid.

Using a tool with a ball (or a toothpick), thin the edge of the resulting piece – a flounce. As a result, it will become even thinner and will lie in waves. The whole process should be carried out on a clean kitchen sponge.

Glue the resulting flounce on the bottom of the dress. Similarly, make a lot of flounces, so that the skirt looked puffy. In some places put pieces of cling film under the flounces, to fix their position. Whatever shape you give them, that's how they "freeze", that will be the end result. In the central part of the body stick a toothpick, leaving one edge free for about 1 cm. This will fix your head to the torso.

For the head roll a ball, not forgetting about the proportions.

Attach the head to the body, smearing the joint with water. Roll three small peas for eyes and nose: two black and one yellow. Flatten and glue a little.

For the ears of the kitten roll up two peas, then with fingers of your hands give them a triangular shape.

Glue the resulting parts to the main figure.

Use pink sugar fondant to make a bow: roll it into a bundle and make a bow. Use a toothpick to make grooves, imitating curves. Glue it to Kitty's left ear.

Use black food coloring to draw a mustache. Place a gift in the paws of the cat: a mastic cube wrapped with sugar ribbon. Leave the made figurine in a dry place until the details are completely fixed, then remove the cling film.
