"Black Cats. 5 interesting facts about the TV series about Rostov
Detective series "Black cats", the action of which according to the plot takes place in Rostov, started on the First Channel. The main role in this film performed by our countryman – Taganrog Pavel Derevyanko.
As conceived by the authors, in postwar Rostov operates a gang. The criminals attack trucks, kill soldiers and rob food stores. They are opposed by members of the department for combating gangsterism, headed by Major Yegor Dragun (Pavel Derevyanko).
"AiF-Rostov" made a selection of unusual facts about this television project.
1. Rostov was filmed in Odessa on the territory of the railway station, the Palace of Sailors, the sanatorium "Arcadia", the literary museum, the Primorsky Boulevard. This Ukrainian city, according to the director, turned out to be the most similar to the Don capital in the postwar years.
4. Critics compare the new series with "Liquidation": the only difference is the year (1947 instead of 1946) and the place (Rostov-papa instead of Odessa-mom). However, the director of the TV movie Yevgeny Lavrentyev disagrees and emphasizes that he wanted to pay tribute to such films as "A Meeting Place cannot be changed" and "An Insider among strangers, an outsider among insiders".
5. The series has already been appreciated by the inhabitants of Israel and Ukraine. "Black Cats" even got into the top 10 of the most private requests of Ukrainian users.
Bloody "debut"
On February 1, 1950, in Khimki. Senior operative Kochkin и local precinct officer V. Filin were making their rounds of the territory. When they entered the grocery store, they noticed a young man arguing with a saleswoman. To the woman he introduced himself as a plainclothes police officer, but she found him suspicious. Two friends of the young man were smoking on the porch.
When police officers tried to check the documents, one of the unknown persons drew a gun and opened fire. Operative Kochkin was the first victim of a gang that had terrorized Moscow and its suburbs for three years.
The murder of the policeman was an extraordinary event, and law enforcement officials were actively searching for the criminals. Bandits, however, reminded about themselves: March 26, 1950 three men burst into a grocery store in Timiryazevsky area, introducing themselves as Chekists. "Employees of the MGB," taking advantage of the confusion of sellers and customers, chased everyone into a back room and locked the store with a padlock. The criminals captured 68 thousand rubles.
For six months the operatives kicked their feet in search of the bandits, but in vain. Those, as it turned out later, having received a large sum of money, went into hiding. In the fall, having spent the money, they went hunting again. November 16, 1950 was robbed goods store steamship line of the Moscow Canal (stolen more than 24 thousand rubles), and December 10 – store on the street Kutuzovskaya Sloboda (stolen 62 thousand rubles).
Raid in the Neighborhood of Comrade Stalin
On March 11, 1951 the criminals raided the restaurant "Goluboy Dunay". Being absolutely sure of their invulnerability, the bandits first drank at the table, and then moved with a gun to the cashier. Junior police lieutenant Mikhail Biryukov was in the restaurant with his wife that day. In spite of this, remembering his official duty, he got into a fight with the bandits. The officer was killed by bullets of criminals. Another victim was a worker at one of the tables: he was hit by one of the bullets intended for the policeman. Panic broke out in the restaurant and the robbery was thwarted. Running away, the bandits wounded two more people.
The failure of the criminals only enraged them. On March 27, 1951 they made a raid on Kuntsevsky Torg. The store manager Karp Antonov got into a hand-to-hand fight with the leader of the gang and was killed.
The situation was extraordinary. The last attack took place just a few kilometers from Stalin's Blizhnyaya Dacha. Stalin's Dacha. The best forces of the police and the Ministry of State Security "shook" the criminals, demanding the release of the utterly insolent raiders, but the "authorities" swore they knew nothing.
The rumors circulating in Moscow exaggerated the crimes of the bandits tenfold. The legend of the "Black Cat" was now firmly associated with them.
Pavel Derevyanko shared the details of filming the historical detective "Black Cats
On the set of the historical detective "Black Cats" in Odessa Pavel Derevyanko dashingly drove a motorcycle 1950s, and Olga Lomonosova escaped from the chase on American car Packard 1940s.
On the set of the historical detective "Black Cats" in Odessa Pavel Derevyanko was dashing around with a motorcycle from the 1950s, and Olga Lomonosova was running away from a chase in a 1940s American Packard. Not only races were in abundance, but also shootouts, chases, jumps on the background of colorful Odessa facades. And as a bonus – local cuisine and excursions from Odessa cab drivers, which no one ordered!
At first glance in spirit "Black Cats" is close to the famous serial "Liquidation". 1947. In Rostov-on-Don, the number of bandit gangs grows by the day. They usually operate at night and remain unnoticed, like black cats. At some point, criminal investigator, Major Yegor Dragun (Pavel Derevyanko), begins to suspect that one of the gang "work" are not quite ordinary criminals.
Director of the 12-part TV movie Evgeny Lavrentyev Yevgeny Lavrentev assures that the picture is less like "Liquidation" – he was more guided by such films as "Meeting Point" and the Soviet romantic films.
For the lead role in the series "Black Cats" Pavel Derevyanko agreed, oddly enough, not at once. He was embarrassed by the characteristic southern accent attributed to his character by the screenwriters. Pavel frankly said that he can not speak as good as Mashkov in "Liquidation", and from this venture is better to abandon. As a result, the emphasis on the accent of the characters decided not to do, although without the legendary "shokaniyami" will not do.
Black Cats – review
Again repeat on TV this wonderful series, and we are happy to watch again, because the film turned out and really fascinating. The events take place in 1947 in Rostov on the Don. Crime is rampant, the threat police are overwhelmed by new cases.
But most frightening of all are the spy groups aimed at terrible decisions to achieve their result. Pavel Trubiner brilliantly plays the role of such a spy. Handsome, clever, cunning, ruthless – a real fierce enemy!
But the enemy stands in the way of no less worthy opponents, such as Yegor Dragun, head of the department for combating gangsterism, wonderfully played by Pavel Derevyanko. The intrigue swirls hard and fast. The situation in the country required quick action, which is beautifully conveyed in the film.
The cast is perfectly matched, which makes the events perceived with a high degree of authenticity. Were they or weren't they? Of course, they were! That is proved by numerous film clips on the subject, such as "Liquidation", "Leningrad 46", "Mesto Vstrechi Nedeli" ("A Place Can't Change").
And excellent actors faithfully embody the director's intention! How accurately the setting is conveyed! The Secretary of the Obkom, a greedy and impudent man, played by Yevgeny Sidikhin.
His partner, Olga Lomonosova, played a complex character of a lady with a double bottom. Working as a secretary to the head of the Obkom, she showed how deftly she could manipulate the voluptuous boss
"Cat" in a box.
When the operatives go on a call to a robbed store, we are shown the Yauza and the surroundings of Yauza Boulevard. In the house 1/5 on Serebryanicheskaya Nab. there really was a grocery store (10). It is this very spot that Zheglov will later refer to as "You Can't Change the Place of the Meeting. However, the entrance to the basement of the store was a sham. The artists made a box with a high threshold and a hatchway door. The humpbacked (Armen Dzhigarkhanyan), Burnt (Alexander Abdulov), Soggy (Ivan Bortnik), Levchenko (Viktor Pavlov) and others were hiding in this cramped box and came out on command. Everyone, of course, remembers this episode: "And now the Humpbacked!"
In the scenes of the capture of Manka the Bond (Larisa Udovichenko) appears floating restaurant "Priboy" near Yakimanskaya nab. (11). Until the 1970s, "floats" – restaurants on motor ships – remained fashionable and inexpensive establishments at the same time.
Before the arrest of the thief in law Ruchechnik (Evgeny Evstigneev) and his accomplice Volokushina (Ekaterina Gradova), who are stealing fur coats in theaters, Sharapov and Zheglov stroll around the Bolshoi Theater. Only it's not the recognizable view from a hundred-ruble bill, but the side facade with metal supports on the Petrovka side.
And behind the Fox (Alexander Belyavsky) are being hunted by Murov at the Astoria restaurant. Filmed this in the hotel "Central," the former Filippov's bakery (Tverskaya Street, 10). (12). The building has been under renovation for the last eight years. But thanks to the film "A Place to Change," the viewer can see the masonry floor, stucco in the hall, rare furniture. And then Fox jumps out the window into the street, followed by Sharapov. They jump out of Tverskaya, and it turns out. on Malaya Polyanka in Zamoskvorechye – another hoax!
How the shooting of "Black Cats" took place
The detective series "Black Cats" starts on the First Channel. The main role in the film about gangster brawls in Rostov-on-Don in the late '40s is played by Pavel Derevyanko, who thanks to the project remembered his exuberant youth and forever fell in love with Odessa, where the shooting took place.
The action of the film takes place in Rostov-on-Don in 1947. In the hungry post-war years, numerous criminal gangs are active in the city, which, like black cats, easily disappear under the cover of night. After another robbery of a food warehouse criminal Investigation Major Yegor Dragun (Pavel Derevyanko) begins to suspect that this is not the work of conventional criminals.
The main role was written for Pavel Derevyanko. The actor did not immediately agree to the proposal: embarrassed by the typical accent of Odessa, attributed to his character writers. Paul honestly said that to overdo Vladimir Mashkov in the TV movie "Liquidation" he would not be able, and therefore from this idea is better to abandon. As a result, the emphasis on the accent of the characters in the series decided not to do.
Derevyanko's character moves around on an old motorcycle with a cradle. Transport more than 50 years old rented from collectors.
– We had three motorcycles to choose from – says Pavel Derevyanko. – I chose the oldest and most colorful. I remembered how at ten years in the village at my grandmother rassezkal on a motorcycle without a cradle – it was dashing, believe me. I've had some unpleasant stories – I've flown into a ditch more than once, but I was attracted to my bike like a magnet. Even now, when I fly to my favorite Thailand or Cambodia, I always rent a moped and go around the neighborhood far and wide. In Odessa behind the scenes I also did not miss the opportunity to ride on a rare vehicle: I drive myself and smile with pleasure, passersby look at me and also smile in response. (laughs) I used to take all the crew in the cradle. Once one of our producers asked to ride with me, but he regretted it. From the corner of my eye saw his pale face and knuckles, clutched in the door handles. In general, the passenger jumped out at the last stop like scalded and did not speak to me for a few days. (laughs).
Where was the "Black Cats" series filmed?
I watched the television series "Black Cats," which recently aired on Russia's First Russian Channel, and previously aired on Ukrainian television.
The series is Russian, the action takes place in post-war Rostov-on-Don. There are a lot of references (starting with the title) to the cult "The Meeting Place…". But that's not what I mean.
I saw familiar places in the film several times. Odessa? I checked – that's right, the show wasn't filmed in Rostov, but in Odessa and the Odessa region.
Remember that old dilapidated house in the village of Vasilevka, on the road from Tiraspol to Odessa?
The once famous estate of the merchant Pankeyev, about which there are many legends. One of the famous myths is that the estate and its surroundings were supposedly the place where the movie "Wedding in Malinovka" was filmed. Villagers support this legend, telling the tourists who came to the village different fantastic stories. In fact, the movie "Wedding in Malinauka" was shot somewhere in the Poltava region, but nevertheless Pankiew's house has a very rich and interesting history.
And this is a shot from the TV series "Black Cats" (in these ruins according to the film is a thieves' brothel):
It is a pity that the old mansion is dying, and every year it becomes more and more dilapidated. Apparently, in a dozen years from the house will be only the remains of the walls.
