Zoe Kravitz will play Catwoman in Batman

Matt Reeves has chosen an actress to play Catwoman in Batman. Selina Kyle will be played by Zoe Kravitz, star of "X-Men: First Class" and the "Big Little Lies" series. Kravitz will appear on screen alongside Jonah Hill, Jeffrey Wright and Robert Pattinson, who will star in the film.

The new film will do without Batman's origin story, but will show how he became the legendary protector of Gotham. Viewers will see the 30-year-old Dark Knight, who is already fighting crime on the streets of his hometown, but continues to understand the role he has chosen for himself. It is believed that the main villain of the film will be the Enigma, who will unite the other criminals against Batman.

In addition to the Enigma and Catwoman, other classic villains such as Two-Face, Penguin, Firefly and the Mad Hatter will appear in "Batman.

Reeves is now busy recruiting actors and plans to begin filming "Batman" in late 2019 or early 2020.

Surprisingly, when Anne Hathaway was announced Catwoman, not much noise was raised. Some argued that a burglar with cat ears in a bodysuit would not fit into the down-to-earth world of Christian Bale's Batman and Heath Ledger's Joker.

Hathaway, however, proved otherwise. From her cleverly designed costume to her twisted motivations, Kyle Hathaway's Selina stood out from previous versions of the character as a cool, nimble and acrobatic heroine, fitting perfectly into the story of Christopher Nolan's Batman world.

The Oscar-winning actress has finally gifted the trilogy with the competent female character the franchise so desperately needed. Once Selina Kyle starts changing "personas" like cards in a deck, beating up thugs in coffee shops and playing the victim, it's obvious that Hathaway wasn't aiming for a mediocre supporting role in the film.

This time, her cunning wit took center stage over her ability to seduce the other characters, and she outsmarted everyone. Although not as iconic as other portrayals of Catwoman, Hathaway's image was as down-to-earth and thoughtful as possible.

In a conversation with BBC One, Anne Hathaway talked about her first meeting with Christopher Nolan about her role as Catwoman in The Dark Knight Rises. According to the actress, she had no idea who she was to play and thought she was being considered for the role of Harley Quinn.

"I came in, and I was wearing this cute Vivienne Westwood-style top, beautiful but insanely tailored, with stripes in all directions," the actress recalls. – Wore Joker-inspired shoes. And tried to give Chris one of those crazy little smiles."
