Svetlana Rerikh: "I didn't go there to spend the night at train stations, to hit some walls…Here, when everything adds up by itself: we found some money, we found people and that's it. Together we met in one place and made this project. I came in December '95, in April '96 the album "I waited for you" with the song "Give me music" was released. The work on the second album started at once, and "Palms" appeared on the air in the fall. And in the spring of '97 the album "Palms" and the music video "Palms" were released.

Biography

Svetlana Roerich was born on August 26, 1971, in Uyar. This town is located far from the capital, so at a young age Svetlana did not even think about becoming a pop star. Her parents were the most ordinary teachers, who earned modest at the time money.

But in his spare time her father played musical instruments, trying his hand as an organizer of local events. The man's versatility amazed and played an important role in the further life of his daughter.

During her school years, Svetlana became fond of singing, attending the local circle and performing on stage. Music was an integral part of a teenage girl's life, but even then the hobby was perceived as no more than a temporary hobby.

After finishing school, Svetlana entered a pedagogical university, where she received her first higher education. The girl could have followed in her parents' footsteps and become a teacher, but even then the girl was drawn to singing, which she continued to practice all her free time. During the years of training she created her first full-fledged group, with which she actively rehearsed and performed in modest venues. The real fame was yet to come for Svetlana.

The Coming of Fame

Turning point in the biography of the young singer was the moment when she drew the attention of music producer Igor Igolkin. He worked with various stars, becoming one of the prominent figures of the industry. He invited Roerich to his production project Weekend, under which the girl became a soloist. Quite quickly the group gained popularity. Songs of the group began to top the local charts and brought Svetlana Roerich her first serious fame.

Soon fate brought Svetlana Roerich together with Pavel Yesenin, who offered the girl to record several joint songs. But the real fame fell on the singer in the nineties.

For me this is a separate era, I would even say a whole stratum, which was turned over and overturned by many. We went through perestroika, the putsch, denomination, moneylessness, unemployment, and it was very hard, THERE WAS HARD, but you should never lose optimism and faith in the best, believe me. I've always been accompanied by MUSIC. It doesn't matter what you like, but I don't think there's a person who doesn't listen to a song. And do you remember the big hit song "Palms" that blew up all the TV and radio airwaves? I hope that many have heard it, but my acquaintance with the performer was far from this song.

And who roused everyone and sang about palms? Do you know? Of course, the sweet and beautiful, charming – Svetlana Roerich.. As I wrote above, I was already familiar with this singer before her megapopularity.

When she was 14 years old, Svetlana won a vocal competition held at the All-Union Children's Center "Artek". After finishing school she entered Krasnoyarsk State Pedagogical Institute. During her studies Svetlana became the soloist of her own group "P.S." and then the professional group of the city house of culture "Weekend".
